Dodecaphonic Requiem

New Orleans funeral music tradition re-engineered using the dodecaphonic serial technique devised by the Second Viennese School in the early 20th Century. Originally written for cornet, trombone, and alto and tenor saxophones in 1983 in memory of my father, who was very much a fan of all types of jazz music especially the Big Bands1. Here arranged for multi-track digital recording of each part being performed on a single tenor trombone.

Track 1 – Gathering – Blues
Track 2 – Cortege – Ragtime Cakewalk
Track 3 – Internment – Spiritual
Track 4 – Wake – Stop Time Waltz
